February

Look for Child Soldier Relief Foundation and Johnny Mad Dog at George Washington University in February! Details to follow. . .

Past Event: Busboys and Poets

December 18, 2011, 8:00 pm

One Common Unity, a non-profit organization that promotes peaceful education through the arts and media, hosts a monthly community open-mic series called Voices of a Movement which highlights a different topic each month.   The topic for December is Child Soldiers and Trafficking, and Child Soldier Relief Foundation is co-sponsoring the Voice of a Movement event for that month.

During a typical Voices of a Movement event there is about forty-five minutes of open mic performances, then the co-sponsoring representatives will come to the stage and speak to the audience about their organization.  We ask attendees for a suggested donation of $5, as the funds raised from the event support our Fly By Light Youth Program.

A bunch of great orgs and great people gathering for great causes. We hope to see you there!

September
On September 11 the Child Soldier Relief Foundation (CSRF) and the Johnny Mad Dog Foundation (JMDF) held their first fundraising event at Wisdom Bar in Washington DC SE. We hosted close to 50 people who watched Johnny Mad Dog then participated in a short discussion afterwards with the Assistant Director of the film and Executive Director of JMDF Samuel Sherman and Founder and CEO of CSRF Christine Williams. The event was a huge success and we raised over $500 for both organizations.
