During this week, two former child soldiers testified about their experiences in battle and how they have since been affected by their experiences.

Patrick, one of the former child soldiers that testified, explained that he has bad memories from battle:

I have bad memories … and that has caused great of delay in the development of my life. I am behind in my schooling. My age doesn’t correspond to the (grade) in school that I now attend. I also have the impression that my mind doesn’t work as it should.

The second child soldier witness, who remained unnamed, explained that they were forced to fight: “If someone refused to follow the orders, he would be killed.”

The Prosecution announced that two of their planned witnesses would not testify because of security concerns.

The trial resumes on Monday, March 9.
